About Us
Who We Are
Mason First UMC is warm, family-oriented church that has been on the downtown square since 1834 – before Mason was even officially a village! We believe that Christ calls us to be a mutually supportive community of faith and service committed to his example of love, grace, and discipleship. We welcome all people and sincerely want to know and include you. As you become comfortable, we invite you to become involved in ministries that encourage your faithfulness and provide outlets for your individual gifts and graces for serving others.

Our Mission and Core Values
The Mission Statement of the greater United Methodist Church is: Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our Mission Statement: Growing in faith, serving others, sharing the love of Christ.
Our Core Values:
Worship – We believe that worship is the most vital way we connect with God. We are committed to providing worship experiences that facilitate your connection to God through scripture, prayer, inspiring music, and thought-provoking messages.
Discipleship – Christ calls each of us to a life of dedicated discipleship. We are committed to providing classes, studies, and experiences that facilitate growth in faith, and discovery and cultivation of each person’s gifts and graces for service and discipleship.
Mission – Christ calls us to love one another and to live that out through acts of service, mercy, and justice. We are committed to caring for one another and for the community around us. We hope all friends and members will find ways to love through service.
Inclusivity – Christ invited all people into relationship with him. We welcome all God’s children to worship and become members of our faith community.
Hospitality – We believe that radical hospitality is a fundamental expression of the love Christ modeled for us. We are committed to making sure that all who worship with us feel loved and valued.
Generosity – We have all been blessed by God’s abundant generosity. We believe that we are called to be generous in kind, that our generosity is an act of worship, and that God blesses our generosity for the purpose of transforming the world to God’s kingdom here on earth.
